The IAT List Of The Best Sports Watches Of 2025
The watches you won't be afraid to bang around

Now, for a more specific category — sports watches. As you’ll see, these occupy all price points, styles and colorways. But it’s also one of my favorite categories. So, here we go, in no particular order:
Porsche Design Releases The Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition With A Fully Lumed Dial
A weird one to start with, but I was smitten by it. It brings together the cool Porsche Design aesthetics with a groovy lumed dial and a connection with the Porsche family. This one resonated with me the most. Read more about it here.
IWC And Mercedes F1 Team Leader Toto Wolff Team Up For A New Big Pilot’s Shock Absorber XPL
I mean… this could be THE sports watch of the year, as it was built to withstand 30,000G worth of shock with a wild suspension system inside. Read more about it here.
RZE Announces Their First Digital Watch, The Titanium Cased UTD-8000
This nearly ended up on my favorite watches of the year list, but that was already a packed roster. I still might get one. Read more about it here.
Blancpain Brings The Fifty Fathoms Tech Back To The Regular Collection
A watch that comes out of left field, especially after the affordable RZE. This is not a regular Fifty Fathoms, of which there have been a lot of releases this year — with both new sizes and materials that could easily end up on a list like this. But I like weird watches, and the Tech is weird. Which is why it’s here. Read more about it here.
Doxa Adds A GMT Function To Their Cult Divers With The SUB 250T GMT
Also a contender for a best-of-overall watch, but it sure makes sense to include it here on the sports watch list. I love this release so much. Read more about it here.
Serica Creates A Special Diver For The French Navy’s EOD Divers With A Really Cool Bezel Function
Like I said with the Blancpain Tech, I like weird watches. And while this is still a cool diver from Serica that I appreciate deeply, it has a very cool new bezel that shows maximum working time at certain depths, as it was made for the French Navy EOD divers who only care how long they can stay at a certain depth and then split without decompression stops. Read more about it here.
Maison Boanton Takes Gets Inspired By The Legendary Alpine A110
This doesn’t look like a classic sports watch and that’s exactly what I love about it. Read more about it here.
Bremont Is Quick To Follow Up The Black Supermarine 500 With A White Dial Version
Bremont has had a couple of rough years, so it’s good to see them return to form. I saw this one live in Geneva and it’s a banger! Totally a 90s-inspired sports watch. Read more about it here.
Hanhart Continues Expanding Their Diver Collection And It’s Only Getting Better
Speaking of great divers, who would have thought that one of my favorite ones would come from a brand known for their pilot’s watches? Read more about it here.
Paulin Introduces Their Fist Diver, The Mara, And It’s Exactly What You Would Imagine
And one of the bigger surprises came from Paulin, with their first diver. It’s rugged, but still quirky in the best Paulin sense. Read more about it here.
Oris And Bamford Team Up For Best Looking Hardcore Tool Watch, The ProPilot Altimeter Mission Control
This watch is big, obnoxious and glows in all kinds of colors in the dark. And yet… I love it. Also, it has an analogue altimeter, which is just an incredible complication. Read more about it here.
Nivada Grenchen Updates Their Supremely Cool Interchangeable Bezel Chronoking Racing Collection
Very few things will be as cool as popping off a bezel and popping on another to change the function of the watch. Thanks for that, Nivada. Read more about it here.
Omega Gets Ready For The Winter Olympics In Cortina With A Very Special 38mm Speedmaster
I’ve been debating about whether to include this because I will always prefer the larger Speedy Pro, but I think this is an interesting restart for smaller Speedmaster models. Read more about it here.
Timex and The James Brand Come Together For A Third Collaboration On Their Titanium Traveler GMT
I think I’ve included these watches for all three years of this list and all three collaborations. But for good reason. They’re very cool. Read more about it here.
Tudor Is Making Some Great Moves With The Ranger, Now Available in 36mm And A Very Nice Beige Dial
People went crazy for the 36mm Tudor Ranger, and I understand why, but I’m way more interested in the new sand-colored dial. Looks amazing. Read more about it here.
Omega Completely Revamps The Planet Ocean Collection With A More Angular And Polished Look
I mean, can a sports list be complete without the biggest change to an Omega collection in ages? This is an interesting move, can’t wait to see how it works out for them. Read more about it here.
The New Sinn 103 St Sa Ty Hd H (What A Name) Gets A Pop Of Color, Exactly What It Needed
One of the best executions of color on a sports watch all year came from Sinn. Who would have expected that? Read more about it here.
Alpina Teams Up With The Real Time Show On The Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic, A Perfect Tool Watch
Want to know how much I like this watch? I’m wearing one while writing this post. Read more about it here.
Certina Introduces Brand New DS-X GMT Collection With Some Fantastic Summer Colors And Flyer GMT
This is a simple watch with great colors and even better functions. Read more about it here.
