Hey friends, welcome back to It’s About Time. Kind of an eclectic mix today, but that Straum really is one of the best looking watches I've ever seen up close. The dial is incredible.

**THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT!** Ever since I moved to this new platform, deliverability of emails has been so-so. Some are delivered to a lot of inboxes, some are routed to people's promotions tabs. In case you haven't been getting your emails, check the promotions or junk folders and move it to the primary. That way you'll always get it.

## 👂What’s new

### 1/ Straum And TRTS Bring Back The Stormy Seas On A Titanium Bracelet And You Have Early Access

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/98/15/981552fd-1b67-4d3c-8ad7-fc38a52bf9fb/content/images/2026/11/straum-jan-mayen-titanium-trts-1-1.jpeg)

Last year I called the Straum × The Real Time Show Jan Mayen “Stormy Seas” my favorite watch of the year. And I really did mean it. I had one of the most stunning dials I've ever seen. In pictures it's breathtaking. Up close, it's incredible. It was, however, a limited time release, and if you missed it, you missed. However... The boys from The Real Time Show are back at it again with Straum, with a new Stormy Seas variant that now gets the brand's brand new and very cool titanium bracelet. It goes on sale again today, again for a limited time, and beautiful looking again. Full disclosure: Rob Nudds and Alon Ben Joseph, who host The Real Time Show, are friends of mine. But despite that, I'm still deeply in love with this watch. Just look at it.

The case is Straum’s updated design in Grade 5 titanium, bead blasted with polished accents. It measures 38.7mm wide and 11.5mm thick with the crystal (9.7mm without), with a lug-to-lug of 45.7mm. A double domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating sits inside a flat bezel, two guards protect the crown, and water resistance is 100 meters.

The dial is still the reason this watch is so good. The colors are inspired by the Straum expedition to Jan Mayen, where a series of unfortunate events almost stopped the expedition several times. They made a really good video of the trip, so go watch that here. Rob remembers the grey-blue water on their way there, and the orange survival suits, and that’s the palette here. The blue goes from lighter at the center to darker at the edge, under a sharp, deep texture, and the seconds hand is bright orange. Applied silver markers and matching hour and minute hands are filled with plenty of lume. Few dials actually look like what they’re named after. This one does, and I still haven’t seen a better one.

Inside is the La Joux-Perret calibre G101, an automatic beating at 4Hz with 68 hours of power reserve. It’s the soignée grade, adjusted in four positions, and Straum rates it at ±7 seconds per day. The bracelet is the big news here. It’s titanium, it has quick-release springbars, and the clasp has micro-adjustment, so you can fix the fit on a hot afternoon. The black FKM rubber strap from last year was good, but this watch always deserved a proper bracelet.

The Stormy Seas goes on sale today, November 3rd, at 6PM CET on the Straum website, and the order window is open until November 17th. Price is set at €2,160, and you'll still be able to buy it on one of the many FKM rubber strap options they have, priced at €1,900\. See [more photos here](https://www.itsabouttime.email/straum-and-trts-bring-back-the-stormy-seas-on-a-titanium-bracelet-and-you-have-early-access/) and the watch [on the Straum website](https://straum.co/collections/early-access?access=iat&ref=itsabouttime.email). While regular sales open at 6, use the link I gave you and you should have early access.

### 2/ Favre Leuba Recuts the Chief Tourbillon With a Hand-Engraved Blue Guilloché Dial

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/98/15/981552fd-1b67-4d3c-8ad7-fc38a52bf9fb/content/images/2026/11/favre-leuba-chief-1-1.jpg)

Favre Leuba’s Chief Tourbillon was one of the better releases of 2025 that I'm not sure got the love it should have: a steel tourbillon from a revived brand that felt like serious watchmaking rather than a logo on a bought-in movement. The Chief is the brand’s cushion-cased sports line, and the tourbillon version has a calibre reworked by Jean-François Mojon, whose Chronode workshop has built movements for MB&F, Czapek and Hermès. This second edition keeps that cool movement and replaces the dial with blue barleycorn guilloché cut by hand.

The steel case is 41mm wide and 11.45mm thick, with brushed and polished surfaces alternating across the cushion shape. There’s a curved sapphire crystal up front and a sapphire caseback. It's a big watch, and I wish they could have made it just a bit thinner. Water resistance is 100 meters.

The barleycorn pattern radiates out from the center, engraved on a rose engine lathe built in the late 1800s. Each dial takes between five and six hours. Hand-cut blue guilloché is the kind of thing photos never quite capture, because the texture changes with every angle. The applied indices are rhodium-plated and polished, and the brushed hour and minute hands have a sandblasted groove down the middle. Both have Super-LumiNova C1 X1, which glows blue. Lume on a guilloché tourbillon is unusual, but this is a sports case, so it works. At six o’clock the tourbillon bridge is shaped like an hourglass, the Favre Leuba emblem, and it also holds the seconds track and a flame-blued seconds hand.

The movement is calibre FL T01, a manual-wind tourbillon based on the Chronode C502\. It runs at 3Hz, has 23 jewels and offers 60 hours of power reserve. The cage is 14.85mm across and turns once a minute. The bridge is brushed horizontally on top and circular-grained on its edge. Through the back you can see Geneva stripes, an anthracite finish, blue screws and an hourglass in spiral relief over a laser-engraved background. The watch comes on an integrated steel bracelet with brushed H-shaped outer links, polished center links and a folding clasp, plus a blue FKM rubber strap with a pin buckle. Swapping between them is tool-free.

The Favre Leuba Chief Tourbillon Guilloché Dial is limited to 25 pieces and it's priced at €30,000\. ### 3/ Arsène Lippens Drops the Edition Cap on the Artigiano Ref 0599 and Adds Two New Textile Dials

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/98/15/981552fd-1b67-4d3c-8ad7-fc38a52bf9fb/content/images/2026/11/Arsene-Lippens-Artigiano-1-1.jpeg)

I like the Artigiano Ref 0599 a lot, and if you missed the first edition of 50 earlier this year, next week you get another chance. The idea is simple: a small, time-only dress watch with a dial made from Italian fabric sourced around Lake Como. Round two brings two new fabrics, an exhibition caseback and, most usefully, no fixed cap on numbers.

The steel case is unchanged at 37.5mm wide and 9.9mm thick, with a lug-to-lug of 45.5mm and 20mm between the lugs. Most of it is brushed, the double-stepped bezel is polished, and an AR-coated box-domed sapphire sits on top. Water resistance is 50 meters. The sapphire caseback is the big change to the case, and it's a good choice on a watch like this.

Three of the original dials stay: Como in blue denim, Chianti in a tweed-like weave and Portofino in turquoise green. Stelvio is new, a khaki green bamboo-cotton blend with sand and khaki threads, named for the Alpine pass. Bellagio uses the same blend in blue, silver and white. There is no date and no seconds hand, so nothing competes with the texture.

Inside is the Sellita SW210-1b, a manually wound Swiss calibre running at 4Hz with 48 hours of power reserve. Decoration is basic, sandblasted and brushed surfaces with a bit of polish. It’s a dependable choice rather than an exciting one, it looks good and now that we can see it, they could benefit from a higher grade with more decoration. Each dial gets its own matching Alcantara strap with a pin buckle and quick-release bars.

The Arsène Lippens Artigiano Ref 0599 goes on sale November 5 and orders will be open to November 11\. Delivery is expected before Christmas. Price is set at CHF 1,500, without taxes. See way [more photos here](https://www.itsabouttime.email/arsene-lippens-drops-the-edition-cap-on-the-artigiano-ref-0599-and-adds-two-new-textile-dials/) and the watches [on the Arsène Lippens website](https://www.arsenelippens.com/collections/artigiano?%5Fsu%5Frec=UFQXydfqWoqLEW60WktVCPioB6iis1Li4BfMjAm31knVWAiSbF6PcPz2mYLiLaDuchvH4LMN9LZn6WnOkL41mZHDuZh980ilY82ok2LpCYiqpl55SKEHCFNYYnVJwDaFCdX5xeu-z9wBmyC4oW9yydolMelHib1np3BCulS5Xa4JLQm5A6i0zATm7H6Et%5FtZKsZ5PjZHa0htlX5RDRRpAdtlMFDLormhHb50MJmNYRPBxg3B1%5FXbtDRjsadLGddbwyt5Ho-uV5rCnlOHlbvCFBoGwNzi&%5Fsu%5Frec%5Fid=358dd52a-e9fd-41d8-a707-cdfea14c5e94-1793646832&ref=itsabouttime.email).

### 4/ The Only Way To Get These New Breitlings Is If You Buy A Million Dollar Hypercar

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/98/15/981552fd-1b67-4d3c-8ad7-fc38a52bf9fb/content/images/2026/11/08_Breitling-Aston-Martin-Valhalla_1-1.jpg)

This B19 44 Perpetual Calendar is one of the best-looking Super Chronomats Breitling has made, and you almost certainly can’t buy one. And if you can and you are reading this newsletter, do reach out. I want to talk. Breitling has opened a special configurator for owners of the Aston Martin Valhalla hypercar, and only they can order this watch or its smaller sibling, the Automatic 38\. Both are built around the car, down to the colour of the hands.

The B19 has a 44mm titanium case, 14.45mm thick, with a black ceramic insert on the unidirectional bezel, a screw-down crown and 200 meters of water resistance. It’s a large, tall watch, and titanium helps it be more wearable. The Automatic 38 is 38mm wide and 11.88mm thick in stainless steel, with a bezel set with lab-grown diamonds certified to the SCS-007 standard. Water resistance drops to 100 meters.

Both dials are made out of carbon fibre. Owners get a choice of the flange and hand colour from four options, including Aston Martin Racing Green and Lime Green. The B19 adds a separate choice for the chronograph counter hands, with six colours that bring in Rosso Corsa red and Vivid Orange. A black carbon dial with one bright accent pulled from your car’s spec is a good idea, and the configurator lets you get it right. I guess if you're spending a million on a car, it's nice to get your watch matched to it. The 38 keeps things simple with three hands and a date at six.

The B19 uses Breitling’s in-house calibre 19, an automatic perpetual calendar chronograph beating at 4Hz with 96 hours of reserve and COSC certification. It won’t need a date correction until 2100, and the black rotor behind the display back can be engraved. The 38 uses the Breitling calibre 17, also COSC, but with only 38 hours of reserve. Its solid caseback has the Aston Martin logo and can also be engraved. The B19 comes on a titanium-steel Rouleaux bracelet, the 38 on a steel one, and both are offered on a black rubber strap instead.

The B19 44 Perpetual Calendar is priced at about €60,000, and the Automatic 38 at about €25,000\. Both are sold only through the Valhalla configurator, and each comes with five years of membership to the Breitling Social Club, opening in Williamsburg, New York, in late 2027\. This is a very fancy Breitling. See [more photos here](https://www.itsabouttime.email/the-only-way-to-get-these-new-breitlings-is-if-you-buy-a-million-dollar-hypercar/) and the watches [on the Breitling website](https://valhalla.breitling.com/?ref=itsabouttime.email).

### 5/ The Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon Iceberg Is One Hell Of A Classy Watch

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/98/15/981552fd-1b67-4d3c-8ad7-fc38a52bf9fb/content/images/2026/11/Laurent-Ferrier-Grand-Sport-Tourbillon-Iceberg_1-1.jpg)

You can’t see the tourbillon on Laurent Ferrier’s Grand Sport Tourbillon unless you turn the watch over. A lot of people I know hate this. What's the point of the tourbillon if you can't see it, right? Well, I'm not one of those people. I love a well hidden tourbillon. I think Laurent Ferrier released the Grand Sport Tourbillon in salmon last year, and it was an incredibly nice watch. Now, they've made it even better with an iceberg-inspired dial. Woof.

The case is made out of grade 5 titanium, 44mm wide and 13.4mm thick. Those are big numbers, but the titanium keeps the whole watch, bracelet included, at 118 grams. I also had a chance to try this watch on, in salmon, and since I do have larger wrists, it fit me like a dream. I had a feeling that the integrated bracelet helps keep it smaller. The shapes are soft: a barrel case, a cushion bezel, and an onion crown that screws down between rounded guards. There’s a domed sapphire crystal on top, a display back, and 100 meters of water resistance.

The dial is just a stunner. It’s opaline milky white with a faint blue cast, closer to frost than to the saturated ice blue one might expect. The Assegai hands and drop-shaped indices are white gold, ruthenium-treated for contrast and filled with white Super-LumiNova. Small seconds sit at six. The only text below the center is “Tourbillon Grand Sport,” printed in the same tone as the dial. It’s very good.

Inside is the hand-wound calibre LF619.01, made in-house and first used in the Classic Tourbillon that won the men’s watch prize at the 2010 GPHG. It beats at 3Hz with more than 80 hours of power reserve. The one-minute tourbillon carries two balance springs mounted head-to-tail and a variable-inertia screw balance, both there for better timekeeping. Bridges and plates are ruthenium-plated, satin-brushed and hand-beveled, including 30 inward angles. The integrated titanium bracelet has three-link construction, brushed with polished bevels, and closes with a folding clasp with no micro-adjustment.

The Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon Iceberg (ref. LCF044.T1.C3GC1) joins the permanent collection at CHF 175,000 before tax.
